Progress Report On Caring For Children Affected By Ebola: August 15, 2018
Achievements:
It has been an exciting time as schools have closed for Academic 2017/2018 and children have been promoted to next grades.
* We had 8 children, 3 boys and 5 girls complete elementry school, 3 boys complete Junior High school and 15 girls graduate . from High School.
Graduating this year are 15 girls from our Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program in Bentol City, Montserrado County. These 15 girls kept their promise to remain in school and not get pregnant. We are so proud of these girls. They stuck with it through very difficult times. We congratulate their parents for supporting their daughters to achieve this first goal of getting a high school diploma.
If some of you our donors can remember, in late June of 2016, First Lady Michelle Obama visited Liberia as part of her three-country visit; Liberia, Morocco and Spain. The visit to Liberia among other things, included a Round Table Discussion with the First Lady and 23 girls/young women. Well, on Friday, August 10, 2018, two of the girls that were chosen to visit the White House as guests of Mrs. Obama, Janet Jackson and Joletha Joe, graduated from High School. Joletha was President of her class.
Congratulations ladies!!
