At long last our children’s home is getting an upgrade. A generous donation was made to honor a deceased and well-loved teacher/principal. This donation is being used to complete the Commons building at JWHS, our children’s home for use as a community Study Center. This center will serve any children needing a place to study, use text and reference and reading books. It will also offer specialized tutoring. Our residential children will have all they need to succeed as well.
The slab for this addition was laid in 2003! Imagine our joy at its completion.
Education is the major tool in the fight against poverty. The orphans and vulnerable children we serve would have no choice but to remain uneducated as they battle for basic survival. That is why education became our priority and we are grateful for the completion of this space.
The children join in with the establishment of the Center by painting the chalkboards that they will use to assist with their studies.
Rejoice with us as we extend further into education in our community in the village of Mangu, Menengai West, Kenya.
