Project Report | Jul 22, 2019
Resuming again after a pause

By Bulbul Ganguly | Project Leader

Hi Friends,

Last year was a challenge for our school for the deaf in Kolkata, India. We were not being able to convince deaf students to come to the school and invest 2-3 hours every week to learn computers. Add to this the lack of teachers qualified to train deaf students in sign language.

We still continued with the few students we had. Beginning this year we have been fortunate for one of our current teachers decided to retire from his university professor job and come to our school and train deaf students! He is the same teacher who volunteered to teach the students when the school started. He has created a better training curriculum to follow throughout the year and more students are coming to take advantage of the high quality training in computers that he is providing.

Other than computer training, last year our school has been involved in organizing various sports events that the deaf students thoroughly enjoyed. These include football, cricket, swimming, carrom, drawing and art competitions.

We are hoping for the school to continue with renewed enthusiasm for many more years to come! Please check out our school photos.

Thank  you for your continued support!
