During the first half of 2026, Think Olga continued its work to advance women’s rights and gender equality in Brazil, maintaining a strong focus on care work while expanding our efforts around women’s financial autonomy.
Our main initiative during this period was Elas Pagam a Conta (“Women Pay the Bill”), a research and communication Lab developed by Think Olga and Think Eva. The project offers a comprehensive overview of the relationship between women and money in Brazil, showing how historical and structural inequalitie, including the gender pay gap, unpaid care work, occupational segregation, and unequal access to financial opportunities, continue to limit women’s ability to earn, save, invest, and build wealth.
The Lab was launched at the Fin4She Summit and was followed by webinars for civil society and private-sector audiences. During its first months, the initiative achieved:
Beyond the Lab, we continued producing accessible and evidence-based content on urgent issues for Brazilian women, including gender-based violence, inequalities in the labor market, the unequal distribution of care responsibilities, women’s health, and the social and economic barriers that prevent women from living with autonomy, dignity, and safety.
Through research, public conversations, advocacy, and digital communication, we remain committed to transforming complex gender issues into knowledge that can inform women, organizations, policymakers, and society. Even with limited resources for women’s rights organizations, we continue working to ensure that gender equality remains part of Brazil’s public agenda.
