During this ongoing coronavirus pandemic period we adhere to protocols to remain safe, but Care for a Child’s Heart (CFACH) realizes there is ongoing need to keep the ball rolling for the benefit of our patients that still need urgent heart intervention and/or surgeries. This quarter our patients were treated at hospitals in Egypt, India, and Tanzania.
One patient - Sih travelled to Tanzania in July and received successful heart surgery at the Benjamin Mkapa Hospital. One patient - Mina, travelled to Egypt and received successful heart surgeries at Aswan Heart Center in Egypt in early August. Another patient is currently at the same hospital awaiting surgery. One patient - Tuma was flown to India in August and received successful heart surgery. All patients are back home in Kenya and recovering well.
Further, CFACH assisted patients in the following ways
One of the goals of CFACH is to support both patients and community. In this regard, CFACH has and continues to distribute back packs and supplies to current and former patients and their siblings. These backpacks were donated through a special back pack campaign.
In an effort to continue assisting patients, CFACH is happy to report partnership with Pedal Wise Cycling Club. Members of the Club recently visited the Family Center and had a fun ride with some of the children. A joint fundraising event in planned for the future.
Children & Charity International and Care for a Child’s Heart wish to extend a hearty ‘thank you’ to all donors and supporters for your belief in our efforts. Together, we shall impact the lives of those that most need care.
