CASE STUDIES:
99 PUDHUPALAYAM - 1
I am M. Vaitheeswari D/o. Munusamy, 10 years old and studying in 5th standard in Panchatyat Union Primary school, Pudupalayam
The school is situated nearly 1 Km away from living place. My mother Mrs. Amutha attempted suicide by fire due to my father’s sadist behavior and liquor addiction. Now I am in the control of my Grandmother Mookaiyee (76 years). Now she is not able to work in Quarry. We are living in a small thatched hut near the quarry. In my hut no electricity and no safe drinking water. Daily in the morning myself and my grandmother go for fetching water in a well. I am very much interest in studying and I want to become as a Doctor in future to serve for poor people. So I am going to school regularly. I am getting food in the school itself in the afternoon only. My grandmother prepares food in Ragi for both of us for the night and the same has been used for next day morning. My father is a drunkard and he will come to see me once in a blue moon but he is not cared about me and my education.
In the year 2012 Mr. M.Kalaivanan (Director of SPHEED) visited my living place and he is very much impressed to support me and for my education. He told that SPHEED has started tuition center in Pudupalayam. I interested and join in the Tuition centre and improved my education and scored good marks in lesson. This year in 2015 I scored Rank in my lessons in the pre-test and half-yearly examination. This is because of the special coaching from this Pudupalayam tuition Centre conducting by SPHEED supported by Global Giving, UK. I thank all the individual donors through Global Giving who sponsors for the Tution Centres for Quarry workers’ Children.
VASUR -2
I am V.Priyadharshini daughter of Mr.Venkatesan 9 years old and studying in 4th Standard in Panchayat Union Middle School in Vasur. My father expired while my age is 5 and my mother’s name is Sathya, aged 37 and she is working in the Quarry at Vasur. I have a younger sister namely Jayasree and she is studying in 2nd Standard in Panchayat Union Middle School in Vasur. We are living in a mud hut near the Quarry. No Electricity or water facility is available for us. I am not able read and write and unable to complete my homework in my hut. Even then my school is providing education but I could not score good marks as a I am in need of adequate coaching in my lessons. Hence I am attending regularly in the Tuition Centre conducting by SPHEED at Vasur. Like me some other children in the quarry workers’ also attending the tuition centre and doing homeworks on school lessons. I want to become as a School headmistress and I am concentrating on my education with the support of the TUITION Centre. Now I am happy about my education and I believe I could score good marks in my lessons. I like to become a Teacher first and hence to complete my school studies with good marks. I herby thank SPHEED and the sponsors and donors through Global Giving-UK for supporting the Tutition Centres.
