Like the Previous month: -The impact of intervention by SPHEED-GLOBAL GIVING among the quarry workers is the awareness on adverse effects of addiction of liquor, tobacco and health hazards of dust inhaled. Apart from this, the quarry workers are motivated to provide Higher Education to the children to get better employment opportunities. The students are interested in learning process and many of them have started shining in their schools. The teachers of their schools are satisfied with our service. Through the provision of education will not yield immediate tangible results for fund raising activity the early signs show the success of the project.
We are trying as hard as that can to find a way to relate the subject to the student’s daily lives. It will make it much more likely for them to be invested. For example, if the subject is literature, try to show what they can learn from the characters’ behavior that they can apply to their own lives.
Students think that, at the end of the day, they are at school so they can get ready to get good jobs in the future. This is how most of the people (parents included) see school nowadays, unfortunately. So take advantage of it, and try to relate their subject to how it can be applied in a work environment. Tell them all about how doctors, engineers, IT developers, writers or dancers can use that information to become successful.
Sitting in a classroom for a whole day is hardly anyone’s ideal day, especially if they are young and full of energy. So why not move the class to a different environment and see how it affects their learning process? Try taking them to museums, beaches, for a nature walk, or even to the school’s backyard. Even the fresh air on their face might help to keep them alert and more interested.
The teachers explained and create on Plastics. The hazards plastics pose are numerous. The land gets littered by plastic bag garbage presenting an ugly and unhygienic seen. The "Throw away culture" results in these bags finding their way in to the city drainage system, the resulting blockage cases inconvenience, difficult in maintaining the drainage with increased cost, creates unhygienic environment resulting in health hazard and spreading of water borne diseases. This littering also reduces rate of rain water percolating, resulting in lowering of already low water levels in our villages and cities. The soil fertility deteriorates as the plastic bags form part of manure remains in the soil for years.
And also our teachers explained and coaching about the women’s self-defense to the quarry workers women.
Mr. M. PAVUNKUMAR, M.Sc., B.Ed., Social Worker has also visited our Evening Class and spoke about the Disadvantages of Plastics. He spokes the following disadvanges:
“Plastic bags have been known to cause a lot of environmental damage. A single plastic bag can take up to 1000 years, to decay completely. This makes the bags stay in environments longer, in turn leading to great build-up on the natural landscape (much more than degradable materials like paper). In other words, the more plastic bags you use, the greater the chances of environmental damage.”
CONCLUSION:
Through our services to the Quarry Workers’ Children, all of the Children are very happy and satisfied. These children’s parents thanks to Global Giving and our Staff.
Thanking you
