WESWA Trust received its Global Giving donation through the WESWA Trust account on 02.03.2009. The aim of the project was to help 3,000 pregnant women over 10 months. They directly benefited from our activities that provided healthy noon meals, medicines, orientation trainings, meetings and activities supported by Global Giving (our estimated total budget is ($90,020). But.now we received donations totaling just $565.
We thank each and every individual who supported us through Global giving. Initially we started our work with a survey of preganant women and their family details.Our Trust staff members are motivated and formed a pregnant women circle and providing supplementary of health noon meal. Then we provided orientation trainings and meetings for pregnant women to create prenatal and postnatal health awareness.
Orientation Trainings
We organized orientation training for a club of 100 members one pregnant women club is cotains 100 pregnanat women in viralur village of Viralimalai Block dated on 10.03.2010 (Wednesday). our of the first Training we conducted for 100 pregnant women with global giving support is creating oneday Health Orientation training, on concept of child survival, safe motherhood, gender issuses, family welfare, to display information education and communication (IEC materials) flash cards, pictures charts related to Health Education motivated by WESWA Trust Health Staffs.

Healthy noonmeal Preparation of healthy food is eggs, greens, dates, grains, pulses are with high level presentage of protions, minerals and carbothydrates meals mixed with a small packets and distributation to pregnant women club around 3000 pregnant women are happy to paticipated the occassion
One of the beneficiaries named Chinnammal told her story. "I am a poor pregnant woman in Mathinipatty village of Viralimalai Panchayat in Pudukkottai district. My husband earns a very low income running family in poverty. My first child Raja is two years old. Now, I am pregant at 4 months. I eat food daily morning and night two times only and there is no regular lunch. Now I am very happing to receive nutricious noon meals from our pregnant women's circle. I sincere thank the project donors for their support. I cleared all doubts about health issues by training. The meetings were very useful to save and nourish my child. That can be used by all pregnant women.
