Cape CARES is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to improving access to healthcare in underserved communities in Honduras. Through continuous medical and dental brigades to the same communities, community partnerships, and preventive health initiatives, we provide compassionate care to those who might otherwise go without. Your support helps us purchase medications and supplies, expand our reach, and continue creating meaningful, lasting change for the families we serve.
In many rural communities in Honduras, access to healthcare remains limited due to financial hardship, shortages of medical providers, and geographic barriers. Families often delay seeking treatment until conditions become severe, while preventive services such as dental care and health education are out of reach. These gaps impact children's development, adults' ability to work, and the overall well-being of entire communities.
Cape CARES addresses these barriers by providing free medical and dental care through volunteer brigades and community-based health initiatives. Unlike one-time mission trips, we return to the same communities year after year, building trusted relationships and providing continuity of care. For more than 30 years, we have worked alongside local leaders to deliver consultations, medications, dental treatment, preventive services, and health education tailored to each community's evolving needs.
For over three decades, Cape CARES has had the privilege of caring for generations of families in the communities we serve. By returning consistently, we are able to support ongoing health needs, reinforce preventive practices, and deepen community trust.
