World Child Cancer is operating in 2 locations in Mexico, in 2017 we are working to add a 3rd in Veracruz. We currently work with 2 hospitals, Hospital del Niño Hidalgo DIF, Pachuca and Hospital de la Ninez Oaxaquena, Oaxaca. These hospitals are partnered with Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City USA.
The work to add a 3rd location is underway. This third location will be stocked with supplies, training of local health care professionals in cancer diagnosis and treatment. It is our hope to build sustainable programs that will help hundreds of kids get help and increase the survival rate of these very treatable cancers.
Donate today to help children get access to treatment. No child should suffer.
Many children (and their families) at our program sites in Mexico abandon treatment or don't survive due to issues that have been addressed successfully at hospitals in the developing world. We are providing training and support for the nurses and social workers to help them implement new systems, policies and treatments to increase survival rates and to reduce abandonment of treatment.
We believe every child with cancer deserves the best care possible and we are changing the odds for these children.
