The last quarter has been very challenging one for the project. Fire consumed some of the hives and thieves stole some of the honey in the hives that were ready for harvesting.
Some of the hives that were ready, the refugees did not know that they were ready, and before they could go to tap, some of it was stolen. Some of the hives that were ready became dry.
At the end of January, only 2 litters of honey was harvested.
Nevertheless, it was a good learning experience for the refugees. The hives were rebaited and they promised to be inspecting the hives regularly.
