First steps into the independent life

By Julia Krepska | Founder and Director

Following their trip to Goa in India, 4 of ours boys have already returned there and started to work at luxury resorts. They are doing so well, learning what it means to be independent and earning good income. Most importantly they are being training in a variety of roles and that will give them opportunities in the future for even better employment. We are so proud of them!

2 more boys will be joining them at some point soon after all their paperwork (citizenships papers) is finished. This might take some time as due to their backgrounds the government is not accepting all of their family paperwork. As a result the boys are stuck in a limbo, not even being able to open a bank account or getting a driving licence. But we are working hard to sort it out so we are hoping that they will be able to go to Goa in a month or two.

8 boys started their college now and 2 more are continuing into their 2nd year. They are really enjoying their studying and that makes us all very very happy. We are sure they will achieve a lot in their lives!

All the children at the children's home also started their new school year back in April and all are very serious about their studies. But they do love their Friday and Saturday evenings when the dance teacher comes and they can work on their magic moves! The boys are also doing a lot of activities with the children from our Child Helpline - they always celebrate all the festivals together (and there are many of those in Nepal), play sports together and just spend time together.

With the monsoon coming to an end, we'll be planting some more amazing veggies in our garden - photos to follow in the next report! We are hoping for a bit less wildlife soon as well in our garden - we had a very beautiful but very dangerous cobra going for a stroll next to our home the other day. Luckily, we managed to catch the snake and release it into the wild.

Thank you so much for all the support. All your help means that the boys can have a future that they deserve. Thank you.
