Thousands of vulnerable children and families in Burundi lack access to coordinated protection, education, nutrition, and support services. This project will help build a community-based digital child and family resilience system using mobile technology to identify, register, monitor, and support at-risk households. Through trained community animators, digital case management, and referral services, vulnerable children will receive better protection, follow-up, and access to essential services.
Thousands of vulnerable children and families in Burundi lack access to coordinated child protection, education, nutrition, and support services. Many children face neglect, violence, school dropout, malnutrition, and extreme poverty without proper monitoring or referrals. Community structures often lack digital systems to identify and track at-risk children. This project addresses these gaps through a community-based digital child protection and family resilience system using mobile technology.
This project will build a community-based digital child protection and family resilience system in Burundi using mobile technology and trained community animators. Vulnerable children and households will be identified, registered, monitored, and connected to essential services via case management. Real-time data collection and referral tracking will improve follow-up, strengthen child safeguarding, support evidence-based decisions, and help communities respond quickly to children at risk.
This will create a sustainable and scalable digital child protection and family resilience system that can expand across Burundi. Over time, thousands of vulnerable children and families will benefit from improved protection, education, nutrition, health referrals, and community support services. The system will strengthen local child safeguarding mechanisms, improve data-driven decision-making, and empower communities to identify and respond quickly to children and family at risk.
