Last year, devastating landslides struck Mount Elgon's high-risk areas in eastern Uganda, destroying homes, claiming lives, and displacing families. Good Cause Foundation Uganda seeks to raise finds to help survivors relocate to safer locations by providing transportation, temporary accommodation, food, clean water, and essential household items. Donate today to help families move away from danger and rebuild their lives in safety.
The Bulambuli landslides have caused deaths, destroyed homes, displaced families, and left communities struggling to access basic necessities. Continued rainfall and mud-covered roads are complicating emergency response efforts. Displaced families face risks of hunger, unsafe water, inadequate shelter, illness, and psychological distress. Children, older people, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable survivors urgently need additional protection and assistance.
Good Cause Foundation Uganda aims to mobilize emergency assistance through food distribution, clean water and hygiene supplies, temporary shelter materials, medical referrals, child protection, and transportation of relief items. The project will also support early recovery for affected households and coordinate with relevant authorities and humanitarian responders to prioritize families with the greatest needs
The project seeks to help families recover with dignity, restore their essential household needs, and connect vulnerable survivors with appropriate recovery services. Lessons from the response will also help strengthen community preparedness for future disasters.
