Walukuba-Masese Library has been the cornerstone to the community. Due to Covid, schools in Uganda remained closed for nearly two years, but the library continued its services. Its programming during the pandemic put an emphasis on reading, writing and spelling. In January of this year, schools finally opened for the 2022 academic year. Now, during the break between first and second terms, the library is proud to note that the students who participated in the pandemic library programming have all greatly improved performance in school. The library is continuing its programming with Saturdays being the most popular. 35 to 50 children participate.
For just $25 a month, you can provide the gift of reading to more than a dozen children. Please join us in giving children the opportunity to explore the world through reading.
