Each year, Help One Child Uganda hosts a Christmas party for the more than 200 children who regularly participate in activities at the library. This year was no different. Teaming up with a local recreation center, children had the opportunity to splash around and swim in several different pools, play games and enjoy the nearby playground. Face painting was another activity that delighted the children. A celebration like this may be common in the United States, but in Uganda this is an extraordinary treat that will be talked about for months to come. We're so happy to be able to provide a respite from the children's daily challenges and see their smiles light up their faces. Let's face it. What better way is there to celebrate the holidays and the new year than hearing the contagious laughter of children.
