Summary

This project seeks to rebuild a community center in La Vega, Venezuela, providing essential resources and support to 150 women and 200 children. Our goal is to empower women through training, nutritional education and mental health support, while improving their children's health and well-being. By providing a safe space, the project will contribute to increased economic opportunities for women, improved educational outcomes for their children, and a strong community network.

Challenge

Women and children in Venezuela are disproportionately affected by a humanitarian crisis. Economic hardship, lack of healthcare, and gender-based violence put them at heightened risk. Millions have been forced to flee their homes facing dangers. UNICEF estimates that 1 in 3 children needs humanitarian assistance. Although UNICEF and global organizations are working diligently to assist Venezuelan children, urgent action is needed to protect these vulnerable populations and rebuild their lives.

Solution

By revitalizing a community center in La Vega, the Amai Foundation addresses challenges to empower women and children. The project offers workshops focused on personal growth, health education, and community building. Women receive training in practical skills, mental health support, and access to nutritional programs within safe spaces, empowering them to transform their lives and their families' futures. Through these initiatives, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and violence.

Long-Term Impact

The project will train and assist 350 women and children. As women gain confidence and skills, they will become agents of change within their families and communities. Improved maternal health will lead to healthier children, breaking the cycle of malnutrition and poverty. Furthermore, the community's resilience will grow as women build networks of support. Empowered women will contribute to a lasting legacy for future generations.
