At AMÄI, we believe every project should generate a double impact: improving spaces while also empowering the people who bring them to life. Today, we are proud to share how this vision is taking shape in La Vega.
For the reconstruction of the community center, we partnered with a remarkable professional, Rafael Simarco (name changed for privacy), a dedicated builder with over 40 years of experience who also belongs to the La Vega community. Alongside his family and neighbors, he has actively participated in this project, involving local hands and hearts in the rebuilding process. This approach not only strengthens the center itself but also empowers families, ensuring that the progress we achieve today translates into opportunities and hope for the children of tomorrow.
From a construction standpoint, the first phase is now nearing completion. Key milestones include the successful replacement of wall tiles and the installation of a new lighting system, designed to transform the center into a space that nurtures learning, motivation, and well-being. In response to local climate conditions, we also added a vital feature: the waterproofing of the roof, a long-term investment that protects the infrastructure and enhances the center’s resilience.
Despite the challenges of operating within a fluctuating economy, we continue to move forward with determination and a commitment to the optimization of resources. Every decision—whether in construction, design, or workforce engagement—is guided by our mission to create sustainable impact for women, families, and children in La Vega.
With these foundational upgrades, and through the active participation of the community itself, we are on track to achieve our vision: a safe, sustainable, and inspiring space that belongs to La Vega and its people.
