A New Home, A New Beginning

By Amelia Miller | Communications Manager

A home is more than four walls and a roof. It's a place where families can feel safe, share meals, create memories, and begin building a brighter future.

During a recent visit to Guatemala, the Sibley ServiceTeam experienced one of the most meaningful moments of their trip: the dedication of a newly completed home for a family in need.

As the family received the keys to their new home, the emotion of the moment was overwhelming. Tears of joy and heartfelt expressions of gratitude reflected just how much this new beginning meant to them.

For this family, their new home represents more than shelter. It offers greater safety, dignity, and the comfort of having a place to call their own.

But the story doesn't end with the house.

Along with their new home, the family received a stove. Inspired by this gift, they began preparing a special area beside their house where they could create a kitchen and dining space - a place to prepare meals, gather together, and enjoy everyday moments as a family.

During follow-up visits, our team also identified another important need: a bathroom.

Thanks to the generosity and support surrounding this home build, construction of a bathroom is now being planned. Once completed, it will provide another essential improvement to the family's living conditions.

A home. A place to cook and share meals. And soon, a bathroom.

Each addition represents another step toward a safer, healthier, and more dignified life.

Through Asociación Nuestros Ahijados (ANA), our partner NGO in Guatemala, The GOD'S CHILD Project works alongside volunteers and supporters to help families access the housing and resources they need to build stronger futures.

The Sibley ServiceTeam's visit is a beautiful reminder of what happens when people come together with a shared purpose. They didn't simply help build a house. They helped create a place where a family can feel secure, grow together, and look toward tomorrow with renewed hope.

Thank you to the Sibley ServiceTeam and everyone whose generosity makes moments like this possible.

Your love builds more than homes. It builds hope.
