We have received a number of requests for progress reports on the projects we have listed with Global Giving.
We understand that Global Giving’s model is to distribute the funds they raise as soon as they can. We at GreaterGood SA, however, have a different approach. Projects that are listed on the South African Social Investment Exchange (SASIX) do not receive any funding from us until we have raised the entire amount required for the project. We enter into a Grant Agreement with the beneficiary organisation and then compile our progress reports throughout the duration of the project, as well as an impact report six months after project completion.
As a result of this policy, none of the projects listed by Greater Good SA have actually started yet. Although 'Building Healthy Communities' has recently been fully funded, and will go ahead very soon; the reporting phase will only begin once a Grant Agreement has been entered into and the project begins the implementation phase.
There is therefore nothing to report yet, however this will change very soon once the project is underway.

Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
