Build Wheelchair Ramps at 10 Key Public Buildings

The Build Wheelchair Ramps at 10 Key Public Buildings project continues to focus on improving accessibility and inclusion for people with mobility disabilities across Niger State. The project has a total funding goal of $12,000, which is intended to cover construction materials, skilled and local labor, handrails, transportation, site preparation, safety features, and community awareness activities. According to the latest GlobalGiving update, $1 has been raised toward the $12,000 target, leaving $11,999 still required, meaning approximately 0.01% of the project funding goal has been secured.

Although implementation has not yet commenced due to insufficient funding, project planning and community engagement activities remain active. Once adequate funding is secured, the project will identify and construct durable ramps at ten high-impact public facilities, including schools, health facilities, and government buildings. Funding will also support the installation of handrails and safety features and community sensitization on accessibility rights. The project remains fully dependent on donor support to move from preparation to construction. Every additional contribution will directly help close the $11,999 funding gap and bring the project closer to creating safer, more inclusive public spaces for hundreds of residents.
