This project will build an Integrated Organic Farm, Training, Production, and Demonstration Center in Foumbot Sub-division, Noun Division of the West Region. This center will provide comprehensive training on climate-smart agriculture to 1000 unemployed Internal Refugee youths, women, and leaders of poor peasant farming communities, offering long-term courses (10 months to two years) and short-term courses (ranging from one day to one month), to create employment and increase food security.
Identified as the world's most neglected displacement crisis by the Norwegian Refugee Council, Cameroon continues to face overlapping challenges driven by conflict, climate shocks, and competition for resources. By mid-2025, more than 2.1 million people had been affected by displacement, including 845,000 internally displaced persons as of early 2026 according to UNOCHA, who are in urgent need of support due to ongoing conflict and environmental stressors.
I.A.A will establish Integrated Organic Farm, Training, Production, and Demonstration Center. This center will provide comprehensive training on climate-smart agriculture to Internally Displaced unemployed youths, women, and leaders of poor peasant farming communities, offering long-term courses (10 months to two years) and short-term courses (ranging from one day to one month). Provision of farm inputs, start up capital of $500-$1000 to facilitate the establishment of individual farms.
The project will train and settle more than 1000 poor peasant farming women and Internally Displaced unemployed youths through long and short-term courses on Integrated Organic Agriculture and Agro-pastoral entrepreneurship, providing them with start-up materials (farm inputs, tools/labor saving devices) and cash capital of $1000 each, allowing them to create jobs and rise out of poverty and hunger, which will provide for their families health, education and well-being.
