Communities around Kahuzi-Biega National Park in South Kivu, DR Congo face ongoing conflict, distrust, and poverty. Tensions between residents, authorities, and service providers limit access to basic services and economic opportunities. Women and marginalized groups are the most affected, often excluded from decision-making and livelihoods, leaving families vulnerable and communities divided.
This project restores peace in DR Congo by organizing community dialogues, social cohesion events, and training programs. We strengthen women's livelihoods through practical income skills, train 30 local service providers, and support 7 community user committees in governance and advocacy. These actions rebuild trust, improve services, and create lasting peace at the community level.
