There are moments that remind us why we believe so deeply in the power of reading. This is one of them.

In our rural communities, every book placed in the hands of a child opens far more than a story—it opens the door to imagination, curiosity, creativity, and the realization that their voice deserves to be heard.

That is the heart of our Literacy Connections program. We want children to do more than learn how to read; we want them to discover that their ideas have value, that their experiences matter, and that they can become the authors of their own future.

Today, we are witnessing that transformative power. We have just launched the first-ever book of original stories written by children from rural schools within the same region of Honduras—a groundbreaking achievement unlike anything previously published in the country. Every page is proof that, when given the opportunity, children do more than read stories—they create them.

Behind every story is a voice that once went unheard and now inspires others. There is leadership, creativity, confidence, and the belief that meaningful change begins when someone believes in the potential of a child.
