Dear Project Supporters,
Thank you! Because of you, we've reached our goal of building diverse Home Libraries for more than 1,000 children — and with this update, we're excited to share that this project is now complete, having met that goal in full.
Your support brought books directly into the homes of children who needed them, giving families the tools to build a home library filled with multicultural, bilingual books that reflect the children who read them. Alongside those books, families received our Bilingual Family Guide and connections to educator support, helping caregivers build, practice, and grow a shared reading routine they can carry forward long after this project's books arrived.
Decades of research show that shared reading is one of the most powerful things a caregiver can do for a child's development — strengthening vocabulary and comprehension, and, just as importantly, deepening the parent-child bond that makes reading something families want to return to again and again. Thanks to your generosity, more than 1,000 children now have that foundation at home.
This project may be complete, but the story doesn't end here. Every home library your support helped build will keep opening doors for years to come, and we hope you'll continue to support our future projects as we bring the joy of shared reading into more homes across the country.
With gratitude,
The Raising a Reader Team
