Nyandja Primary School in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo, serves 600 children who deserve a safe and supportive place to learn. Yet, for many of these pupils, going to school means studying outdoors, exposed to heavy rain and intense sunshine. The lack of classrooms, desks, toilets, and teaching materials makes learning difficult and creates health and safety concerns. Behind these challenges are children whose education and future opportunities depend on having the right conditions to learn.
Our project aims to change this situation by constructing six classrooms and four latrines and providing desks and essential educational materials. We are currently in the preparation phase, identifying trainers and learners and preparing for the activities to begin. The total project budget is $85,000, and we have received our first $1 donation. Although we still have a long way to go, every contribution brings us closer to creating a better learning environment for these 600 children.
Through our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we are working to reach more donors, strengthen our fundraising efforts, and mobilize the resources needed to achieve this goal. Once sufficient funding is secured, the project will move forward with the planned construction and provision of school materials. We believe that every child deserves to learn with dignity, and that a safe school can open doors to a brighter future for families and the wider community.
We sincerely thank GlobalGiving and our first donor for helping bring this initiative closer to reality. We invite individuals, foundations, companies, and partners around the world to join us in supporting this meaningful project. Your donation, whatever its size, can help give 600 children a safer place to learn and a stronger foundation for their future. Together, we can turn this vision into reality, one classroom at a time.
