Every child must eat

By Kwagala Samantha | Fundraiser

Title: Every Child Has To Eat*

Dear Generous Partner,

Greetings from Gaba Hope for Kids.

Before a child can read, before a child can write, before a child can dream - every child has to eat.

In Gaba, many children come to our learning center hungry. Some have had no breakfast. Some had no supper last night. They sit in class with empty stomachs, trying to focus, but hunger is louder than the lesson.

We cannot teach a hungry child and expect them to learn well. We must feed them first.

Why Every Child Has To Eat:

- A hungry child cannot concentrate
- A hungry child feels weak and sleepy
- A hungry child may stop coming to learn
- A hungry child worries about food, not about books
- A hungry child deserves food, just like any other child

What We See Every Day:

- Children who become happy and active after a simple bowl of porridge
- Children who stay to read and write because they have eaten
- Children who share food with their friends
- Children who come back the next day because they know they will find something to eat here

Our feeding is simple - porridge, rice, beans. It is not much, but it keeps a child in class. For some children here, this meal is the only meal they will eat in a day.

Our Challenge Today:

- More than 300 children come, and the number is growing
- Food items are expensive
- We do not have enough cooking pots, plates, and firewood
- We sometimes have to cook less than what is needed

How You Can Help:

- Donate food items - maize flour, rice, beans, sugar, cooking oil
- Donate charcoal, firewood, or clean water
- Donate cooking pots, plates, and cups
- Volunteer to cook and serve
- Share our story so more people can help

When you give food, you give a child strength to learn.
When you feed a child, you protect their right to education.

Every child has to eat. Let us make sure no child learns on an empty stomach.

We are not asking for pity. We are asking for partnership.

Every meal, every grain, every prayer counts.

With gratitude,

Gaba Hope for Kids
