Our partner in the Philippines have now completed the second phase of the House Building Construction project and are currently working on house repairs and construction of latrines. Overall they have built 48 houses, 2 learning centres, 4 house repairs.
They are currently working on the house repairs for 20 houses and have engaged people from the community to build 30-50 latrines.
The next phase will be the construction of 100 houses on another island. They have realised that the pace of construction is quite slow and they are now looking at the option of using sub-contractors to help speed up the delivery of the project. Reconstruction team will regroup to evaluate their operations. There is a clear need to increase the manpower capacity and the simplest option would be to hire sub-contractors to work on the house construction project.
They are aiming to complete the 100 houses before the end of this year.
