Dear Esteemed Partners,

We send you warm greetings from Masindi District in Uganda.

Seven months down the road a number of activities have taken place, notably;

1. With great joy we would like to inform you are now National NGO operating in Uganda.
2. Budongo Women Bee Enterprises was listed as winner with the Hi Innovator pending successful due diligence. The Hi Innovator is a program of the National Social Security fund and Mastercard Foundation supporting micro and small enterprises in Uganda by award qualified enterprises with $20,000 to scale their activities.
3. Safeplan Uganda was listed as a winner of the Prestige award for Non-Profit Organization (NPO). The prestige award is a initiative managed by Livewire to recognize the success and impact of micro and small project across the world, to which Safeplan Uganda was listed as the winner 2023.
4. Budongo women Bee Enterprise has been under going training on health Safety and Environment a project managed by E360 and funded by GIZ and partners with aim of enhancing competitiveness of Small and micro enterprise in Uganda.

Details about the projects

With the Hi innovator if we are funded, we hope to reach more 300 women with training on bee keeping skills, secure honey processing and cleaning equipment and certify our honey so we can export to outside market.

A new facility has been secured to process high quality honey and herbal syrup and the Enhancing Competitiveness of small and medium scale enterprises (ECOS), has been training the staff on health and safety, environment, marketing, factory set and more. We have been also started the process of preparing to meet the standard of (ISO) so that our honey can move all over the world.

Challenges

1. Our major setback still remains with limited funding to support our activities, our team and meet our current operational needs.
