Schools in Guatemala resume in the middle of January, 2014. We plan to initiate our computer program starting in February 2014, and will install computers and train teachers in as many schools as we have funding for by December 31, 2013.
This entire project cost is upwards of $71,000 and we have only raised about $5,600 on GlobalGiving and another $2,500 from an anonymous donor. We have a ways to go to be able to install computers in all 10 schools. Over 2,000 elementary school kids are waiting to use computers in 2014. Teachers in the rural schools litterally have no teaching aides so being able to teach the students using age appropriate software opens a whole new world of learning.
Want to give a kid a computer for Christmas? Please donate today.
