By Irfan Khan | Project Leader
Dear Supporters,
We are grateful for your ongoing commitment to improving the lives of out-of-school children in Pakistan’s most underserved communities. Through your generosity, our School on Wheels initiative continues to bring literacy, creativity, and hope to children living in slum settlements and brick-kiln areas where educational opportunities simply do not exist.
Project Progress
Over the past reporting period, the School on Wheels team has expanded its outreach to several high-risk localities. Our mobile classroom—equipped with books, slates, stationery, and learning materials—travels directly into these communities and conducts structured learning sessions for children who otherwise remain excluded from formal schooling.
Key progress highlights include:
• Weekly literacy sessions covering reading, writing, numeracy, and basic English
• Creative expression activities encouraging drawing, storytelling, and role play
• Distribution of learning kits to children with no access to educational resources
• Engagement with parents to reduce child labour and emphasize long-term education
• Strengthening community relationships to ensure consistent attendance
Through these efforts, we have begun transforming the educational landscape for children who had previously never stepped inside a classroom.
Impact Story
During a recent session, one young boy shared his dream with our volunteer teacher:
“My dream is to become a lawyer and help people.”
This simple statement reflects the power of education to inspire possibilities beyond the limits of poverty and labour-based childhoods. Children who once spent their days collecting scrap or working alongside their parents are now discovering their potential through learning.
Challenges
More than 26 million children in Pakistan remain out of school due to poverty, distance, lack of infrastructure, and child labour. Reaching these areas requires ongoing mobility, reliable teaching materials, fuel expenses, and dedicated volunteer coordination. While progress is steady, the scale of need demands sustained support to reach more communities.
Next Steps
In the coming months, we aim to:
• Expand School on Wheels routes to additional slum and brick-kiln clusters
• Provide 500 more learning kits to newly enrolled children
• Introduce a structured parent awareness program to reduce dropout rates
• Strengthen storytelling and creative arts modules to enhance confidence and expression
Your continued contributions will allow us to maintain and grow this vital education service.
Thank You
We extend our sincere appreciation to all donors who believe in the right of every child to learn. With your support, we are breaking the cycle of illiteracy and opening doors to brighter futures. Each child we reach becomes one step closer to lifelong empowerment.
Yours Sincerely
