Dear Donor
In Kafra Camp in northern Syria, Mr. Saleh lives with his elderly wife, who suffers from chronic health problems, in a modest shelter that lacks even the most basic necessities of life. After years of hardship and displacement, the couple continues to face daily struggles alone after losing both of their sons during the years of conflict. The pain of that loss remains a constant burden as they navigate a life marked by grief, poverty, and uncertainty.
With advancing age and declining health, Mr. Saleh and his wife are no longer able to secure a stable income or meet their essential needs. As a result, they have become entirely dependent on humanitarian assistance to survive and cope with the difficult conditions surrounding them.
Thanks to the generous support of donors through GlobalGiving, we were able to provide Mr. Saleh with a financial grant that helped him cover his most urgent needs, including food, medicine, and other daily necessities. This assistance brought much-needed relief and restored a sense of dignity and security to both him and his wife at a time when even the simplest necessities had become increasingly difficult to obtain.
Mr. Saleh’s story is not an isolated case. It reflects the reality faced by countless elderly people who have lost their children, livelihoods, and support networks as a result of years of conflict. Today, many of them struggle with poverty, illness, and loneliness, relying on humanitarian aid as their only source of support.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors through GlobalGiving whose generosity made this assistance possible. Your support provides far more than financial help—it offers hope, dignity, and reassurance to vulnerable individuals who have endured immense hardship and continue to face an uncertain future.
