Dear friend,
When the floods in 2020 destroyed homes and schools, 40,000 people were relocated to the Mangalla Internally Displaced People (IDP) camp. We were the first to provide medical help to the families. We also wanted to help the children continue their education. In 2022 we built a primary school. We started with fifty students and three teachers. Today we have 208 students, three teachers, and three volunteers. Half of the students are girls.There used to be thirteen schools in the camp, but ours in the only one that remains.
We are thankful for friends who support our efforts to help these children have hope for a brighter future. The teachers work hard and tell the students that they are the future leaders of South Sudan.
