Project Report on “Brighter Futures Education for Ethiopia’s Children” (#71875)
Submitted to the GlobalGiving Community
December 10, 2025
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Three months ago, Face Up Generation Aid Organization (FUGAO) continued its commitment to giving Ethiopia’s most vulnerable children access to quality education through our project “Brighter Futures Education for Ethiopia’s Children.”
Our mission is simple yet life-changing: to ensure that every child—regardless of poverty, displacement, or crisis—has the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream.
This project is transforming classrooms, empowering teachers, and restoring hope for thousands of children whose education has been disrupted by conflict, drought, and displacement.
Progress So Far
Since September 2025, we have expanded educational access across Afar, Amhara, Oromia, and Southern Ethiopia, focusing on children from low-income families, displaced households, or communities affected by crisis.
Through collaboration with local schools, parent committees, and youth volunteers, FUGAO has delivered essential learning materials, improved school environments, and supported vulnerable learners.
Major Achievements from September – December 2025
1. Learning Materials & Educational Access
2. School Infrastructure & Learning Spaces
3. Teacher Support & Community Engagement
4. Supporting Girls’ Education
Early Impact & Stories of Hope
A Brighter Path for Displaced Children – Afar
After being displaced by conflict, 11-year-old Hawa had been out of school for nearly two years. Through the project’s school supply and fee support, she returned to class in September.
She told us:
“I want to become a nurse one day so I can help my people.”
Classrooms Reborn – Amhara
In a school where classrooms were once dark and unsafe, FUGAO renovated learning spaces and provided desks. Teachers report improved attendance and enthusiasm among students.
Girls Gaining Confidence – Oromia
Girls participating in the leadership clubs are showing improved academic performance, reduced absenteeism, and a new sense of purpose.
Challenges We Encountered
Despite progress, several challenges affected implementation:
Despite these obstacles, our teams adapted through local procurement, flexible scheduling, and community involvement.
