Introduction

Currently youth in India, especially in the under -developed and rural and tribal regions, are particularly vulnerable to being recruited by many multinational companies, corporate groups. According to a report by Formation Awareness and Community Empowerment Society on

There is high unemployment and the great majority of the youth have little knowledge about or skills in leadership development, peace/conflict resolution, life skills and local development issues and challenges to guide them towards productive and non-violent activities.

Therefore CSA came up with an idea to conduct the life skill sessions for the children in the age group of 14 to 18 yrs. Under -Life Skill training Project we intends to discuss about 5 basic elements. Those are communication, self-awareness, Collaboration- team work, Critical thinking, decision making.

This module is deliberate effort to develop the skills of adolescent girls and boys who can further begin a structured effort to engage their peers in productive activities. They are trained on life skills, leadership and peace/conflict resolution, along with awareness on self-development issues and challenges.

Training Objectives:

Training was designed to meet the following objectives: Ø

To create awareness regarding the concept of life skills and make participants understand the concept.

  • To enhance participants teambuilding skills
  • To make participants understand the importance of developing self Skills for becoming a better leader.

Training Techniques:

This training has been designed following the principles of activity based learning. Every session incorporates theoretical details about the topics along with their practical application through group exercises and activities.

Following training techniques have been used:

üLecture

üBrainstorming

üQ&As

üGroup Activities & Exercises

üPresentations

Impact-

After about 20  to 25 sessions which also includes Adolescent Health Program (AHP) Adolescent child’s vision towards life and his aim towards life gets more precise.  We have received feedback from the participants that they never thought or talked about themselves in this manner. Their thought process becomes more clear and target oriented. Thanks to all the supporters of CSA who have made us possible to conduct such sessions for changing life of the vulnerable children.
