Funding Gaps Threaten Local NGO Support Services

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank you for your support toward the Bridge USAID Cuts: Fund Local NGOs in Africa project. Your contribution shows strong concern for communities that depend on local organizations for basic services. However, the donations received so far are still not enough to launch the project.

Across many parts of Africa, local NGOs continue to face serious funding shortages following reductions in external support. These organizations play a key role in delivering food, healthcare, safe water, and shelter, especially in hard-to-reach and crisis-affected areas.

Without adequate funding, many of these groups are at risk of reducing or stopping their activities. This creates gaps in essential services and leaves vulnerable populations without support for their daily needs.

This project is designed to provide grants to local NGOs so they can continue delivering aid within their communities. Support will focus on food distribution, medical care, safe water access, and emergency shelter, helping to keep services running where they are most needed.

With sufficient support, local organizations can remain active, respond quickly to community needs, and continue serving people who depend on them.

We are grateful for the support already received and remain hopeful that additional contributions will make it possible to begin this program and reach organizations working on the frontlines.

Thank you for your kindness and continued support.

Sincerely,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
Project Leader
