IF ONLY
IF you had millions or billions of dollars, what would you do with it? IF you were Bill Gates, you might choose to work toward eliminating malaria, a disease which kills millions of people each year. IF you were Howard Buffett, son of multi-billionaire Warren Buffett, you might choose to help Columbia kick its cocaine curse. IF. . . . IF. . . . IF. . . . IF only you had the money. . . . . . you, too, would choose to change lives!
And you CAN! And you DID! And you ARE changing lives!
Through your donation to Break Near-starvation Cycle for Congolese Farmers you have changed the lives of the poorest of the poor in Democratic Republic of Congo. Nearly 200 families have become self-sufficient. Lives changed. Their children are attending school. Generations changed!
2019 was a year of extreme political unrest throughout the Congo. Even the normally peaceful southeast Kafubu Valley was affected. An unusually early rainy season caused flooding in the valley. Sometimes our volunteer CTD agronomists could not safely visit the villages for weeks. Against great challenges, they delivered the hybrid seed and fertilizer in time for planting! The farm families who had previously been trained in effective farming techniques shared their newly learned skills with neighbors. In past years, the combination of floods, political danger, and no farming skills would have resulted in another famine. Working together, the people in Kafubu Valley reaped an adequate harvest. Lives were preserved!
Thank you for your donations. In 2019, you not only changed lives. You literally saved them!
IF you can, please donate today.
