Fundación Estrellita de Belén continues its mission of creating education and awareness about Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), the number one birth defect in the world. Beyond saving lives through medical support, our organization is deeply committed to teaching children and families about heart health, empowering them with knowledge, hope, and understanding.
Throughout this year, we have worked closely with parents and caregivers, helping them better understand congenital heart defects, the importance of early diagnosis, treatment options, post-surgical care, and how to help their children thrive after medical procedures. Education has become a fundamental part of our mission because informed families are better prepared to support their children throughout their journey.
One of our most meaningful projects has been the creation of a special coloring book designed for children with congenital heart defects. Through art, creativity, and simple educational illustrations, the coloring book teaches children about their hearts in a comforting and engaging way. It encourages them to understand their condition, express themselves emotionally, and learn that they can live strong and fulfilling lives.
We are especially proud that our coloring book was also sent to Africa for children living with congenital heart defects. During a special event, the children were able to color the books, learn about their hearts, and enjoy an activity that brought happiness, education, and encouragement. Seeing children from different parts of the world connect through this initiative has been incredibly meaningful for our organization.
In addition to the coloring books, Fundación Estrellita de Belén continues distributing educational flyers and informational materials to families and communities. These resources help raise awareness about congenital heart defects, explain symptoms and treatments, and provide guidance about ongoing care and healthy living.
Our educational efforts are focused not only on helping children understand their bodies, but also on helping them believe in their future and their ability to thrive despite the challenges of congenital heart disease.
We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to continue this work and proud to not only help save hearts, but also educate children and parents about congenital heart defects. Through awareness, education, and compassion, we continue building stronger communities and creating hope for children and families affected by CHD worldwide.
