The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County continues to be engaged in supporting and encouraging its members to achieve academic success and be rewarded with a gainful future. For many of the children the Boys & Girls Club is the only source of homework support. The Organization's staff engages its members in homework completition. Daily, members complete homework assisgments in preparation for the next day in the classroom. It is well documented by school officials that a child that is unprepared for class participation will absolutely fall behind in realizing academic success. Many unprepared children will become disruptive in the classroom and disturb others wishing to participate in the learning process. As children fall behind in school, a desire to drop out of school often becomes a reality and they discontinue their education. The goal of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County is that all members will graduate from high school with the ability and desire to continue their education and/or become gainfully employed in a promising career path.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County has become actively involved in promoting its STEM Program within its membership. Programs are being designed to fill the Robotics experience. It is estimated that over 80% of all jobs will be STEM related by 2020. With over 60% of the Club's membeship living in or below the poverty level it is even more important that the programs be available to all, especially those who do not have the opportunity to work with the construction of robots, computers, programming and other STEM related programs.
The Mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles is to enable and encourage all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens.
