Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Charles County is fortunate to have amazing community support. Volunteer groups help with a variety of activities and events throughout the year. Recently, members of the St. Charles Jaycees visited both Club units to lead a career readiness opportunity with members ages 10 and up.
During this, the Jaycee leaders spoke with members about how to dress professionally, how to greet people, the importance of learning and using peoples names, and many other key soft skills necessary for success in the workplace. In addtion, they demonstrated how to tie neckties and helped members learn how to do this. Our members had a blast during this time and worked to help each other tie their ties, encouraged each other to keep trying, and were excited to successfully tie their own ties.
Small engagements like this make learning fun, engaging, and impactful. Our local community plays an important role in helping members both enjoy their Club experience and learn key skills.
