On August 7th Heather Cameron, fouder of Boxgirls International held a workshop on gender equality and sports at UNOSDP Youth Leadership Camp in Sweden 2014. The UNOSDP YLC takes place several times a year each time in different city. This time young participants from all over the world visited Stockholm. All of them same as our organisation, work hard everyday using sport as a tool to support development of local communities. Young boys and girls from all continents learned to strengthen their leadership skills and exchanged their expieriences as leaders and coaches. Heather Cameron not only held a boxing workshop for creative and active leaders, but also encouraged them to share their great ideas and knowledge about working with communities in form of short videos that will help other leaders to utilize sports to empower their local communities. During the workshop youth acquired boxings skills, discussed about gender equality and using sport to empower women and girls to better achieve educational goals, be more self-confident and aware of their strength and power to bring positive change to their communities. They also gave tips on being a good coach, how to inspire and support players to help them become succesful.
