By Dr. Matthias Hammer | Project Leader
This project continues to struggle to raise money with only $1,767 out of the $10,000 goal raised so far.
The additional $761 raised since the last quarterly report in July 2017 were used to support placements on our snow leopard conservation expedition to the Tien Shan mountains of Kyrgyzstan and to train local people in how to use camera traps. The aim of the placement programme is to train the next generation of local conservationists. Local people are trained so that they can be integrated into snow leopard conservation efforts. Eventually our aim through these two programmes is to create a community-based snow leopard conservation programme in the Kyrgyz Alatoo range of the Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan.
