Dear Donor,
We are excited to announce that the machines for the sanitary pad manufacturing site have a new design by Aakar Innovations. The new machines are efficient, easy to operate and cost effective. With an improved process, the machines make better quality sanitary napkins and instead of 2,000 pads a day, we can now make 2,500 pads and employ 20 women! We have also added equipment to continue research and development of pads made from water hyacinth and other products for women. This project not only affects the life of vulnerable girls who are provided pads during their menstruation cycle but it particularly affects women of the often oppressed Dalit community who have a job and health insurance.
Now is the time to subscribe to your support girls and women at our first sanitay pad manufacturing site in West Bengal, India through our wonderful partner New Light, a shelter and home for the children of sex workers and an advocacy organization for Dalit women.
Any donation is greatly appreciated as we work towards our goal of making a truly sustainable impact on the lives of girls in developing countries.
Thank you for your support!
Shana
