Dear friend,
Yes, we've come a long way. We have three independent sites that make and sell biodegradable sanitary pads. Pads are made by women and in some cases young women, and they all feel empowered to cater to the needs of their fellow women and girls who all deal with a monthly period. No matter how far we come, it's only enough to help those it reaches and those who receive the pads donated by you.
We see girls thrive in their lives because they no longer worry about hygiene which used to be a horrific concern. The women employed to make pads are empowered to live with dignity. It's a lifted burden when a woman from a difficult life situation can break free of crippling poverty or a girl can attain an education that provides hope for their future.
We remember how raising the money for equipment was met with women understanding how empowering it is for girls and women to be free of figuring out this monthly burden.
Those of you who are paying monthly understand that while it's not a lot, it means a lot. All of you, added together help so many women and girls. We realize that donations can be given for many items but for you to understand the needs of a girl says a lot about your character and empathy.
We at Village Volunteers are not paid so the funds that reach the programs are wired and they receive what you intended.
Thank you!
