Dear Donor,
During difficult times, we are reminded of a woman's monthly function can also be a monthly crisis for girls and women in impoverished areas around the world. Imagine what is often taken for granted as a necessity is a luxury for many girls around the world who have no means to pay for sanitary pads. Nonprofits, in good faith have set up cloth pad programs or donated cloth pads. The message we received after working with women for years was that while cloth pads are well-meaning, they are full of bacteria and girls, in many cases, do not have the privacy or water to wash and hang to dry and can lead to dangerous bacterial infections .
Our biodegradable pads are now made in India and Kenya where vulnerable woman make biodegradable pads for vulnerable girls.Often when girls get their periods, they are frightened with little understanding of what is happening to them. The cycle of feminine support provides intimate connections for woman who never spoke of their "periods".
With your help, we have started to wire funds monthly to both Kenya and India making thousands of pads a month and making the little “crisis” a fact of life.
Thank you!
