Joy of studying

By Alexandra Shchetkina | GlobalGiving Ambassador Russia

Student and the teacher: one-to-one studying
Student and the teacher: one-to-one studying

Remember, how often didn't you want to go to school when you were 13-14 years old. School seemed to be something common, something matter-of-course. The only thing we can all confess in is that time after time every each of us thought how great it would be not to go to school.

But for children from orphanages and special care orphanages to learn, to study is a privilege. In those kind of places kids get some education but its not enough and for some of the children who need special approach, special teacher -  its completely nothing. After graduating orphanages some children cant even read! Can you imagine that in our high-tech century? Can you believe that someone have no knowledge how to read? But it happens not so rare.

And there are centers of additional education for young adults age 15-30 can fill the gaps of education. Every person - student in "Big change" center has his own year program: no fast or slow but just as he need. Every student treated carefully with  dignity and respect no matter what he or she cant do or does not know. Teacher focuses on students goals and help him achieve them to the end of the year.

During school year students have different activities other than common education: music, art, travel club. So they can interact with each other, explore city or find out something interesting.

For many of those who cant get proper education, to attend Centers like Big Change is a really BIG change in their life, because it gives them chance to study, chance to reach their dreams of good work, home and normal life.
