Galina is another talented artist and graduate of the Big Change.
Galya has come a long way: the girl, who grew up in orphanage for children with neuropsychiatric disorders, now moved to live in Italy.
She is now studying in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, she also creates souvenirs with her own hands.
“It took me so many years to get to an activity that I really enjoy doing. I started to work in a laundromat at opjhanage. Then I decided to find a job - eventually joined McDonald's, where I could choose a flexible schedule and have time to study, because if you want to progress, there will be no way without study, ” Galina recalls.
Following friends’ advice Galya came to our Foundation.
“In “ Big Change ”we were got help not only in our studies, but also in becoming adults.
Those were magical and crazy years! We had been covering not only a school program, but also participated in interest clubs, discussed various subjects, shared experiences, learned to frame our thoughts, and one more thing - travelled across Russia and Europe. We were taught to think, reason, debate. Together with teachers and with other students from this centre, I was able to visit London and Italy! Then I could not even think that I would move abroad permanently.
I had been studying at the centre for 3 years. During this time there were ups and downs, I thought more than once that I fail, but the support of the teachers and the faces of the students who had already passed the exams helped, - they changed so much, and these transformation in their faces was the best motivation for me.
I had thoughts to quit in college as well, but again I was supported by people, teachers who witnessed my progress and believed in me, ”- the girl said.
Following college graduation, Galya decided to continue her education abroad, in sunny Italy. We are so proud of her!!
Thank you so much for supporting us and give us an opportunity to continue our common cause! We hope you are inspired and continue to support Big Change educational program. We can’t do it without you!
