Nakshatra is Bhumi’s annual inter-children's home art, cultural, sports and science talent fest for children to exhibit their talents and explore their potential in an atmosphere of healthy competition.
A forum for underprivileged children to Dream, Discover, and Dazzle, Nakshatra proves to be the right mix of learning and enjoyment. The children explored and participated in a variety of cultural, literary and art competitions.
The seventh edition of Nakshatra 2015 spread its colour and joy among children in Trichy and Delhi on the 26th of July; in Bengaluru and for the first time in Pune, on the 2nd of August. Learning through activities, the event included cultural, literary and art competitions. A variety of 24 different activities for varying age groups was a perfect mixture of learning and enjoyment.
874 children from 25 shelter homes in and around Trichy participated in this energetic cultural fest. The overall trophy was taken home by Hope for Hopeless; the second and third places were secured by DKSHA Boys and Seva Sangam homes respectively. Over 200 enthusiatic volunteers organised the event.
23 shelters homes with 621 children participated in Delhi's event which was coordinated by 170 volunteers. The overall trophy was won by Arushi Home and the second place was bagged by Vidya Okhla Home.
A total of 586 children from 22 shelter homes participated in Bengaluru. The overall trophy was taken home by Saharsa Deepika, and the second place was secured by Child Fund Association.
Pune chapter witnessed Nakshatra for the first time and saw participation from 10 shelter homes with 234 children. Maher Ashram from Vadhu Budruk won the overall trophy, and the second place was bagged by SASA.
The event was also supported by sponsors like IM Gears Pvt. Ltd., Eco Kitchen, Triad Solutions, NTT Data, and Plintron.
