In the last quarter, Bhumi's impact on education for underprivileged children in India has seen significant progress through various collaborations and initiatives. The number of students supported has notably increased; thanks to internal and external partnerships. Specifically, Bhumi has supported the following institutions with scholarships:
This quarter's remarkable achievement is the selection of three scholars for a pilot mentoring program, a global initiative by Microsoft aimed at developing employability and communication skills. This program is highly competitive, with only ten entries from Asia, including these scholars a significant milestone for Bhumi.
The scholarship program continues to thrive, with 57 students receiving general scholarships, amounting to 82 Lakhs disbursed this quarter. Furthermore, 8 scholars have been integrated into volunteering programs, collectively contributing 608 volunteer hours. These efforts not only support the scholars financially but also encourage them to give back to their communities through volunteering.
One of the most inspiring stories from this quarter is that of Divya A., a scholarship beneficiary who has transitioned into a volunteer role for Bhumi’s NMMS program. Divya is now training 60 students in the same government school where she once studied, exemplifying the transformative power of Bhumi’s initiatives. Her journey from beneficiary to mentor highlights the far-reaching impact of Bhumi’s work, fostering a new generation of socially conscious leaders.
This underscores the progress and achievements of Bhumi's educational support initiatives. By increasing student support through collaborations, launching a global mentoring program, and disbursing substantial scholarships, Bhumi continues to make strides in its mission of providing quality education to underprivileged children. The transformation of beneficiaries like Divya into volunteers is a testament to the profound and lasting impact of Bhumi’s programs.
