The future of education for underprivileged children in India is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires both short-term and long-term solutions. In the short-term, initiatives such as improving access to quality schools and providing financial assistance for families to send their children to school can help increase enrollment and attendance. In the long-term, there needs to be a focus on professional development, as well as infrastructure development and technology integration to improve the quality of education.
Bhumi is working towards bridging the education gap and ensuring that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to a good education. We provide language and STEAM education, life-skills support, and scholarships to children from orphanages, urban slum communities, and low-income schools. Furthermore, we are also upgrading and digitising infrastructure at schools.
Since April 2022:
> Bhumi has benefitted 2,800+ children across 171 shelter homes in India by providing them scholarships.
> Bhumi's Skill-Ed program trained over 1750 young people between the ages of 18-27 in digital skills and soft skills to make them job-ready.
> Bhumi Whole School Transformation Program benefitted 23,000+ students across 72 schools.
> Over 13,000 children benefited from Bhumi’s Nakshatra Art Festival, Young Scientist program, and Joy To the World gifting campaign.
> Over 1470 classes were conducted as part of Bhumi’s Ignite Communities program to support children with basic skills in literacy and numeracy.
Bhumi's efforts have had a positive impact on the education of underprivileged children in India, and we are committed to continuing our work. We look forward to your continued support from the community in achieving its goal of providing equal education opportunities for all children.
